'Blue Moon' Latte
This ‘Blue Moon’ Latte it’s not only enticing but also full of health benefits for our bodies. It’s a perfect way to end your day with a caffeine-free cup of latte.
The special tea that is used to make this lovely latte is the butterfly pea tea.
The tea in itself is reviving, and it can be enjoyed as a standard cup of tea, similar to the green tea. By drinking this tea, we can benefit from several health benefits – a decrease of internal inflammation, anti-ageing, energizing properties and so many others. I had the chance to receive one sample of this butterfly pea tea a while back, and I didn’t know much about it, just that the dried tea looked so beautiful and it smelled good.
I did some digging, and I was impressed to see how many incredible benefits it has.
Later, I’ve noticed this tea pop up everywhere, and especially the latte’s or the ‘Blue Moon’ Mylk.
The well-known formula that is on the market is the powder form of the butterfly pea flower. It’s essential to find a good organic brand that sells the butterfly pea flower powder. Usually, health stores are the safest place to purchase good quality organic teas.
Oh, but this superb blue powder has other uses as well. It goes on! Baking, and making exquisite desserts are an excellent way to show off the lovely colours of the butterfly pea flower powder, also known as ‘blue matcha.’ It’s a great way to naturally colour your cake glaze, creams, add it to all sorts of desserts and drinks. I’m super excited to use it myself to make some delicious and stunning looking desserts – I have an entire list now with potential recipes. :)

‘Blue Moon’ Latte (one serving):
- 1 cup plant-based mylk (coconut)
- 1 tsp organic dry lavender flowers (food grade)
- ½ tsp swerve sweetener (erythritol based)
- ½ tsp organic non-alcoholic Madagascar vanilla
- 1 tsp butterfly pea flower powder
Step 1
Warm up the mylk in a small pot –simmer on low recommended 95° F (35°C), then add the lavender flowers – cover the pot & leave for 10 -15 minutes to infuse – strain.
Step 2
If you would like to serve your cup of latte warm, place the small pot back on the stove at a low simmer.
Add the butterfly pea flower powder, sweetener, vanilla, and mix well with a hand frother or a whisk.
Serve in your fanciest cup, and enjoy! :)
